Angela Merkel Visited Webasto’s Wuhan Plant, to Whom Century 3 Provided Professional Services

On 7th September, 2019, Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, accompanied by a top-level German business delegation, visited German automotive supplier Webasto’s new plant in the city of Wuhan (Hubei Province) to give the starting sign for the production. Since April 2017, Century 3 has provided engineering and general contractor services to Webasto’s world’s largest manufacturing plant and was honored by client for delivering quality service on time and within budget.

As China’s 10th plant and the company’s largest production site worldwide, Webasto’s Wuhan plant manufactures sunroofs and panorama roofs as well as electric heating systems and charging stations for electric vehicles on an area of 41,000 square meters. After moving from a formerly rented property to this site owned by the company itself, Webasto has tripled the capacity for the production at about two million roof systems per year. In addition, more than 1.2 million electric heating systems and 600,000 charging stations can be manufactured here each year.

Jeannie Li, Century 3’s project manager said: "During the project execution, Century 3’s team was challenged with many difficulties including the extreme weather. Yet we tried our best to eliminate all kinds of safety hazards and achieved more than 620,000 safe hours. We were honored by Webasto for our commitment to excellence in quality and safety work."
