IKEA Tianjin Zhongbei Store Opened Recently

The IKEA Tianjin Zhongbei store, to whom Century 3 provided EPCM services, was opened on June 27th, 2019. As a long-term partner of IKEA, apart from providing engineering, procurement and construction management service to the newly opened Tianjin Zhongbei store, Century 3 also worked for several IKEA projects in Nantong, Nanning and Xi’an.

As the 27th in China and the 2nd in Tianjin, IKEA Tianjin Zhongbei store is located at the core business district of Xiqing District, Tianjin. Occupying an area of nearly 80,000 square meters, the basement and first floor of the shopping mall comprises of over 1000 parking spaces that includes both large family and barrier-free parking spaces. The commercial areas on the second and third floors are equipped with a Nordic-style lounge and a 198 square meter Småland children’s park respectively. Additionally, with an operating area of nearly 40,000 square meters, there are more than 50 home inspired showrooms with nearly 700 seats in the customer restaurant.

During the course of the project management, Century 3 has overcome challenges such as the complexity of the project systems, high-quality standards, the schedule challenges brought by the strict control and approval of the government, and the limited spacing around the construction site causing loss of productivity and safety hazards, etc. Furthermore, it was a high priority to continually implement the innovative requirements set by the client and to ensure smooth collaboration with all parties involved in the project, which reflects the core values of Century 3 as a project management service provider.
