Learning with Rural Students who Received C3’s Donation of Computers

Author: Century 3       Update: 2018-05-03

Students in Cangyuan County, Yunnan Province are taking a step up in the digital world thanks to Century 3’s donation of retired computers and company volunteers’ person-to-person PC skill instructions during National Holiday, 2018. C3’s voluntary teachers were warmly welcomed by local students as they were ready to equip students with the necessary skills for future success.

Earlier this year, Century 3 has delivered 35 refurbished computers to schools in Gansu, Henan, Guangxi and Yunnan provinces. This time, Century 3 chose to visit one of the benefited schools in Cangyuan County, Yunnan Province, a small village situated a few kilometers away from Myanmar. 4 employees from Century 3 embarked on a journey to spread love and knowledge to students with educational offerings.

Let’s hear out what C3’s volunteers are to share:

Mr. Cunjun Wang:
“I was deeply touched by students’ sincerity and yearning for knowledge. Teachers there also impressed me with their devotion to career. As a member of Century 3, I’m honored to be engaged in this charity event and to fulfill my commitment to social responsibility.”

Mr. Lionel Shen:
“Let love spread far and wide. Thanks to C3, I had the amazing chance to get in touch with kids from rural China who are in need of help.”

Ms. Celina Tang:
“Love is the most beautiful language ever created by human. We delivered love through giving knowledge; meanwhile we were energized by the love back from them. We hope to open a door for those smart and innocent kids to the outside world so that the limitation of educational resources won’t stand in their way.”

Children in rural communities often face social isolation, a lack of positive role models and scarce opportunities, but with Century 3’s sponsorship more village students will have access to computers and the Internet and to acquire knowledge and develop the necessary skills to compete in an increasingly specialized and global workforce. By collaborating with “Chinakids”, an organization that has vast contacts to rural schools, Century 3 plans to establish new programs such as “Book Corner” with donation of age-appropriate books from our employee in the near future.
